Who's Leading You?

The right partner matters.

I’ve been dancing for years. I recently met somebody I danced with for just a few hours, and I learned more in that short time than I’d learned in all my years of dancing before.

Have you ever met someone who changed your life in a very small amount of time? Someone who impacted you more in a few moments, conversations, or experiences than people who have been around you your whole life?

That is the power of partnership.

Your partner does not just matter in dancing. Your partner matters in marriage. Your partner matters in dating. Your partner matters in friendship. Your partner matters in business. These partnerships shape our lives. These are people that help lead us in the various roles we play. The people we surround ourselves with influence how we think, how we grow, and who we become.

The right people challenge us. They inspire us. They pull out strengths in us we did not even know were there. Just like in dancing, the right partner can help you move in ways you never thought possible. When you have the right person leading, they guide you into growth, confidence, and places you may have never reached on your own.

But that also means we have to be honest with ourselves about relationships that may no longer be serving us in the best way. Not every partnership helps us grow. Some relationships keep us stuck, drain our peace, or pull us further away from who we are meant to become. Sometimes growth is not just about choosing the right people, it is also about re-evaluating the people we allow closest to us.

It’s okay to outgrow certain relationships. It’s okay to create boundaries. It’s okay to choose environments and partnerships that bring out the best in you.

So are you surrounding yourself with strong partnerships? Are you choosing people who encourage growth, bring out your best, and help you become the person you are meant to be? Or is it time to re-evaluate a relationship in your life that may not be leading you where you truly want to go?
