Broken Shoes and Broken People

I was on my way out the door this morning when my shoe broke. This is the third time I have had a shoe break this week. Very odd.
My shoes looked fine each time. The blue ones today had not even been worn! I never would have questioned the integrity or stability of any of them.
The lesson in this to me was even though something looks perfectly normal, well put-together, and fully functional… does not mean it is not broken, internally damaged, or on the verge of falling apart.
This is your reminder to check on your friends/family. We all do a great job about putting on a happy face when, in reality, sometimes we are NOT really ok and about to break.
If you’re reading this, I challenge you to text or call one person- the first person who comes to mind, and just check in. I have personally witnessed one simple text save a life.
Who’s on your mind right now?
Don’t tell me- tell THEM!
